I brought my car to the guys at Status Detailing, where I have been going for years for PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) and cosmetic work. This time, it was for the application of GYEON’s two-component quartz protective coating — Q2 DURAFLEX. You can read more about it [insert link here].
In brief, Q² DURAFLEX is the latest and most technologically advanced two-component quartz protective coating from GYEON. It offers guaranteed protection, powerful hydrophobic properties, and incredible smoothness of the treated surface for over 60 months.
Preparing the car’s surface was necessary, especially after some scratches it got at the port. The team at Status Detailing washed, polished, degreased, and applied two layers of the coating, followed by “baking” it under lamps. The photo report is below.
They also removed the not-so-attractive Dual Motor sticker with the red line. Personally, I don’t like it 🙂 It’s different with the Model S, with its clear and concise markings like P90D or P100D… Knowing myself, I would have removed these badges too, as I love cleanliness.
The process began at 8 in the morning and finished at 8 in the evening. The team worked with four hands… Usually, such procedures take about 24 hours, as they allow layers to dry in a closed, dry space. However, since they worked with a lamp, the process could be accelerated.
I took the final pictures when it was already dark outside.
I’m considering getting tinting and possibly a PPF (Paint Protection Film) for the front bumper and two headlights to protect the car from chips.
